Joining Warden Hill Infant School from another local school or moving into the area
Some children join Warden Hill Infants from other local schools, from schools elsewhere in the UK or from overseas during the school year, all known as ‘in-year’ admissions.
If a vacancy exists in any age group, then an offer of a place can be made because over subscription criteria such as siblings already in school or distance from school do not apply.

Joining Warden Hill Infant School in 2019
There are four Reception classes in our Foundation Unit and children will be starting school for the first time.
Our Foundation Leader likes to visit the three main feeder nurseries, to gain information about the children. She then arranges the children into classes. She tries to place the children with their friends to ease their transition. This process can take a while, letters will be sent out shortly to inform you about our school, which class your child is in, their class teacher and information about start dates.
Our Reception Leader will be inviting you and your child to a stay and play session. This will take place on Thursday 4th July during the common transfer day for all schools in Luton. During this session you will have a chance to talk to their class teacher, fill in forms, your child can play in the classroom, try on school uniform to establish sizes and meet other children who will be in their class. In addition you will be invited to a parents and carers information meeting on Tuesday 16th July at 2.45 pm.
Before your child starts in September we would like to visit you and your child at home. This is an important visit for 1:1 meeting to discuss your child’s needs, their dietary requirements and ask any questions you may have. Appointments for the home visit will be made with you at the Stay and Play session on 4th July.
You will be receiving a letter from us with the information, times and dates of all of the meetings in due course.
We look forward to meeting all our new Reception children in the next couple of months. If you haven’t received a letter from us by the end of May please phone the school office on 01582 595150.
